A family which has a health insurance can go bankrupt if there comes any health issue which is not included in the policy taken by the family. For example, almost all of the insurance companies do not give cover for the treatment of dental problems. No coverage is given for the RCT. Similarly, no full insurance cover is given to the patients of diseases which are considered life threatening. Similarly, patients above the age of 60 or 65(according to the countries) are not given health insurance cover. So having health insurance doesn't mean that a family cannot go bankrupt due to medical expenses.
