Answer:

y=5/3x-13/3

Explanation:

Equation of line is:

y=mx+c where m denotes slope and c denotes y-intercept.

From graph, we observe that

two points are given in graph which are (-1,-6) and (5,4).

Firstly , we have to find slope of given line.

slope=m=Δy/Δx=
y_(2) -y_(1)/
x_(2) -x_(1)

hence,

m=4-(-6)/5-(-1)

m=4+6/5+1

m=10/6

m=5/3

Now, use any of one point in equation of line.

we use first point which is (-1,-6).

the point slope form of an equation is

y-y_(1) =m(x-x_(1) )

hence putting above point and value of slope,we get

y-(-6)=5/3(x-(-1))

y+6=5/3(x+1)

y+6=5/3x+5/3

adding -6 to both sides of above equation,we get

y+6-6=5/3x+5/3-6

y+0=5/3x+5/3-6

make common denominator

y=5/3x+5/3-18/3

y=5/3x+(5-18/3)

y=5/3x+(-13/3)

y=5/3x-13/3 which is equation of line where m=5/3 and c=-13/3

Answer:

y = 5/3x -13/3

Explanation:

We know two points

(-1,-6) and (5,4)

The slope is given by

m= (y2-y1)/(x2-x1)

m = (4--6)/(5--1)

= (4+6)/(5+1)

= 10/6

=5/3

We know the slope and a point

The point slope form of an equation is

y-y1 = m(x-x1)

y--6 = 5/3(x--1)

y+6 = 5/3(x+1)

Distribute the 5/3

y+6 = 5/3x +5/3

Subtract 6 from each side

y+6-6 = 5/3x +5/3 -6

Get a common denominator

y = 5/3x +5/3 -18/3

y = 5/3x -13/3
