The distance between two points is found by

d =sqrt( x2-x1)^2 + (y2-y1)^2)

= sqrt( 0--9)^2 +(-7--4)^2)

= sqrt( (9)^2 + (-7+4)^2)

= sqrt(9^2 + (-3)^2)

= sqrt(81+9)

= sqrt(90)

We know that sqrt(ab) = sqrt(a) sqrt(b)

= sqrt(9) sqrt(10)

= 3sqrt(10)
