  • Exercising outside only in appropriate weather
  • Exercising outside only in daylight hours
  • Having your phone with you in case you need to call for help if you become injured or abducted
  • Making sure that you stretch before and after to improve performance and to decrease the likelihood of injury
  • Possibly having a personal alarm
  • Trained in a martial art or hand-to-hand combat
  • Having proper clothing and shoes
  • NOT wearing earbuds that impair your awareness of your surroundings
