How do you simply the square root of 180 and how do you know that it is in simplest form?

Answer:

6*sqrt(5)

Explanation:

Sqrt(180)

180/36=5 and 36=6^2

So just re-write sqrt(180) as

sqrt(180)=sqrt(6^2*5)=6*sqrt(5)

We know this is simplest form as 5 is not a perfect square. When simplifying a radical then we are simply taking out any numbers that are perfect squares and multiples of the number under the radical or sqrt sign
