A bag contains different colored candies. There are 50 candies in the bag, 28 are red, 10 are blue, 8 are green, and 4 are yellow. What is the probability of choosing one candy that is not green ?

Add all of the numbers up. That equals 100. Add everything up except the green. That’s 92. So 92/100

P(green) = green/total

= 8/50

= 4/25

We know that

P ( not green) = 1 -P(green)

because these are the only two events that can happen

Either the candy is green or it is not green.

P ( not green) = 1 - 4/25

= 21/25
