3x+5=5x-11

-3x = -3x Subtract the 3x from both sides

5 = 2x-11 You will end up with 5 on the left and 2x-11 on the right

+11 = +11 Add 11 to both sides to get rid of 11 on the right

16 =2x you will end up with 16=2x

16/2=2/2 Lastly divide 2 on both sides

8=x You will end up with the answer as x=8
