There is a 15% chance it will rain on Saturday and a 20% chance it will rain on Sunday. What is the percent chance that it will rain on both Saturday and Sunday?

Solution:

Let P(A) denotes the Probability that it will Rain on Saturday= 15 %

And , P(B) denotes the Probability that it will Rain on Saturday= 20 %

As, we have to find P (A ∩ B).

P(A) and P(B) are Independent events.

So, →→P(A∩B)= P (A) × P (B)


=(20)/(100)* (15)/(100)\\\\ = (300)/(10000)\\\\ = (3)/(100)\\\\ =(3)/(100)* 100=3%

Option (A) 3 % is the chance that it will rain on both Saturday and Sunday.

P(S') = 20 % = 0.20
