  1. In 1773, due to the high of the taxes, occurred in Boston the revolt of the tea. Samuel Adams and John Dickinson founded the Sons of Liberty Society.
  2. In Philadelphia on September 5, 1774, the representatives of the thirteen colonies met in what was then called the First Continental Congress. At this meeting a declaration of rights was drawn up and a return to the previous situation was required. The British Parliament did not accept the claims of the colony, thus increasing the friction between the thirteen colonies and the central government, culminating in the outbreak of the war in 1775 in Lexington and Concord.
  3. Also in 1775 occurred the second continental congress, simultaneously there was the battle of Ticonderoga, with the victory of the anticolonialists. With the high morale of the combatants there was the creation of the continental army.
  4. On July 4, 1776, representatives of the 13 colonies assembled in Congress declared the independence of the 13 English colonies of the American continent.
