Simple: Independent clause. "She went to the store."
Compound: Two independet clauses. "She went to the store, and then she picked her brother up."
Complex: An independent clause and dependent clause. "She picked up her brother at the store."
Compound-Complex: Two independent clauses and at least one dependent clause. "She picked up her brother, and went to the store to get bagels."
