Explanation:

24 boys + 18 girls + 8 adults = 50 people

Out of sample of 50 people he counted, 8 were adults. Hence, the percentage of adults is:


(8)/(50)=0.16 (equal to 16%)

"Assuming the distribution is same for the 650 people in the auditorium, the percentage (or probability) or chosing an adult will be the same"


So, the answer is 0.16
