k=-9

Explanation:

Given equation is

3k-5=(k+4)+3k

3k-5=k+4+3k

Adding -3k on both sides of equation we get

3k-5-3k=k+4+3k-3k

We know that 3k-3k=0

-5=k+4

Adding -4 on both side of above equation, we get

-5-4=k+4-4

-9=k

k=-9 which is the answer.
