Sadie and her mom were at a hardware store to purchase smoke detectors for their new home. Sadie's mom was unsure how many units she should purchase. What is the general recommendation?

A. One large one for the middle of the house
B. Every room in the house should have one
C. Kitchen, garage and laundry room- since those are where most fires happen
D. Every living area including the hallway by the bedrooms should have a smoke detector.

Answer:

The correct answer would be D, Every living area including the hallway by the bedrooms should have a smoke detector.

Step-by-step explanation:

Smoke detector is a device which is installed in houses, offices, buildings, etc to detect smoke in case of fire. Smoke detector rings a siren and throws water automatically over the area where it is installed in case of smoke detection. So in this question, if sadie's mommy doesn't know exactly that how much smoke detectors should be installed in her house, she should make a count of the living rooms, kitchen, garages, hallways to bedrooms, laundry area etc, and install each of them there. There shouldn't be any important room or hallway or area left where you know can be the chances of fire. Kitchen is the most sensitive place to catch fire, similarly the threat of fire is always there in living areas where short circuit can happen. So Smoke detectors should be installed everywhere in the house.
