Answer:

Cells are considered as the fundamental, structural, and functional unit of living organisms. They can not be seen through naked eyes as they are microscopic in size.

  • For studying, they are required to be taken outside the living system under controlled environmental conditions ( in laboratory using cell culture and different microscopic techniques).
  • Scientists study cells in laboratory environment so as to see the effects of varying environment on cell ( such as exposure of different drugs can be studied).
  • This is valuable in studying problems having clinical relevance, especially which are related to diseases, screening, and studies of mechanisms of cell toxicity.
  • It has significant application in the evaluation of therapeutic agents that potentially may treat disorders.
