KIPP refers to the Knowledge is Power Program. This is a network of college and preparatory schools that are found in low income communities all over the United States. These schools are free, and represent the largest network of public charter schools.
KIPP students have some qualities that distinguish them from other students. These students tend to come from inner-cities and from low-income families. Therefore, they usually do not have as many advantages as students in other schools. Another quality that they have is the fact that KIPP students are some of the highest-performing students in their communities.
