burning your hand while touching a hot plate is conduction. the heat from the plate is being conducted to your hands.


conduction is when a substance of matter allows heat to flow throw it easily, but convection is when heat is transferred to a liquid or gas.


the correct answer is D. conduction must have matter in order to transfer heat, but convection does not it needs a fluid.

and radiation is the one that is the one that takes place in outer space or in vacuums.
