Nominalization is the use of a word which is not a noun (it might be a verb, an adverb or an adjective), but it is used as a noun in a sentence. It can be used with its morphological transformation (use of suffixes) or without it (base form).
Some examples with the morphological transformation are shown below:
Investigate - Investigation: the investigation was carried out by officers.
Fail - Failure: he avoided failure at all cost.
Move - Movement: she felt movements in her belly; it has her unborn son calling her attention.
