In the prologue, readers learn that Charlotte’s father asked her to keep a journal. Now, you are going to do the same. For your first entry, describe a time you left home for an extended period. How did you feel? Were you nervous? Excited? Why? If you have never had this experience, imagine what your feelings might be.Your response should be about 150 words in length, and should use descriptive language.

Answer:

One time we had a field trip at school. We went all the way to Savannah for 5 days. I was very nervous and hoped I would not mess anything up. I was also excited because I was going to have so much fun with my friends. There was so many emotions going through my head when I first left, but eventually I realized that it was a super exciting opportunity. Some of the lessons that I learned when I was alone are lessons that I can keep with me forever. It made me think that I should be more reasonable and help my family whenever they need it. It also helped me realize that I am stronger then I thought I was when staying away from home. My home is a place that I feel safe and comfortable but I can still feel comfortable now when I am away. This opportunity also gave me a great way to start conversations with people and tell them my story. I am normally a shy person so anything to help make conversation is great.

Hope this helps!

You might want to write more and/or change it a little because my teacher only gave my half points for this.

The very first time I left my home for more than one night was in 2002. I was five years old and I was eager to spend a weekend camping in my summer camp.

It's my first time writing in this journal, I don't know how to do these things. I'm happy, nervous and worried at the same time. I love my friends, I love playing sports, I love swimming, I love nature, but I'm afraid of missing my parents. I'm leaving tomorrow morning to spend a whole weekend camping with my friends. We are going to do a campfire, eat sausages, play games, go on adventures. It's going to be so much fun! Despite all the fun, I am going to miss waking up next to my mum's bed and having breakfast together. I am going to miss the walks to the woods after lunch with my dad. I'm going to miss my dog Bongo, who is going to take care of him better than I do? I know I'm exaggerating a bit and it's only three days, but I've never been outside my home for so long. I'm going to miss my house, my bed, and my toys, but I'm going to be back! This is it for today, I will keep you update with my summer adventures.
