✣When Napoleon invaded Spain, he had served as a Spanish army
officer for 20 years.
✣He fought against Napoleon and the French invaders and when the
Spanish lost he traveled to London and then returned to the land of
his birth to help with their struggle for independence.
✣He became a general and helped to lead the fight against Spain.
✣After freeing Argentina, he worked to free Chile and then worked with Simon Bolivar to free Peru.
