Frame of reference is termed as a set of physical reference point in a geometric axis or coordinate system for a standard measurement.

For example, if we talk about relativity in terms of speed then frame of reference describes the relation between moving observer and the situation under observation.

If we observe a train moving and a passenger is sitting in it, as per our frame of reference the passenger is in motion but as per the frame of reference of passenger, he is in rest position with respect to train.
