This pyramid has a square base measuring 10 inches on each side it has four faces that are congruent isosceles triangles. The height of each triangle is 12 inches. Find the surface area of the pyramid

Explanation:

To find the surface area, calculate the area of each shape and add it together, A pyramid has 1 square and 4 triangles in its net,

Area of square is A=s*s=10*10=100.

Area of a triangle is A= 1/2 b*h = 1/2 (10)(12) = 60.

There are four equal triangles so together there area is 4*60 = 240.

Add the square to it and you have the surface area of the pyramid.

240 + 100 = 340
