My name is Mary. I’m 13 and live with my parents in Jamestown, Virginia.

My Journey to Jamestown

I came to Jamestown, Virginia, last year. My parents and siblings got on a small ship with the London Company and sailed across the Atlantic Ocean. But I didn’t know how dangerous our journey was until people talked about it later.

About our Town

Jamestown has a big harbor, but the fresh water supply is limited. The weather is rough. There are many swamps with mosquitoes.

When we arrived at Jamestown, we faced many problems. We didn’t have much food, and many of us got sick. But our leader, Captain John Smith, helped us.

At present, there are very few people from England left in Jamestown. I don’t know where the rest went. Captain Smith also returned to England this year. But I’m excited to see what the future holds for us.

This sounds fun. WW11 is famous for Hitler killing lots of jews and him taking over many countries starting wars with many. Imagine living in a world where only one race was known as good and while people were dying and perishing in the cold war then write to a dude in 2020 saying how nicer it must be to be living past all of this.
