x + 3 = 2(2x - 1) Remove parentheses

x + 3 = 4x – 2 Add 2 to each side

x + 5 = 4x Subtract x from each side

AM = AD + DM

= (x + 3) + (2x – 1)

= 3x + 2 Substitute the value of x

= 3 × ⁵/₃ + 2

= 5 + 2

= 7

Length of median AM = 7.
