Momentum = mass (kg) * velocity (m/s)

The bullets momentum is 0.05 * 500 = 25

25/0.25 = 100

The ball would travel at 100 m/s.

Answer:

The football is 100 m/s fast

Step-by-step explanation:

Momentum is the product of the mass of a body and it velocity. Momentum is a vector quantity . Meaning it has both Magnitude and direction. Momentum is the mass of a body in motion. Mathematically,

Momentum = mass × velocity

p = m × v

To calculate how fast the football traveled one needs to calculate for the momentum of the bullet.

Momentum of the bullet = mass × velocity

Momentum of the bullet = 0.05 × 500

Momentum of the bullet = 25 kg m/s

Since the momentum of the bullet is equal to the momentum of the football

Momentum of the football = mass × velocity

How fast means calculate the speed which is the velocity

Velocity = Momentum of the bullet/mass

Velocity = 25/0.25

Velocity = 100 m/s
