The perimeter is the sum of the three sides.

Subtract the length of the hypotenuse for the sum of the 2 sides:

60 - 26 = 34 cm

The Pythagorean theorem is a^2 + b^2 = c^2

Where a and b are the sides and c is the hypotenuse.

So we know a^2 + b^2 = 26^2

26^2 = 676

We also know a^2 +b^2 = 34 cm

Now a^2 +(34-a)^2 = 676

Factor:

a^2 + a^2-68a+1156 = 676

2a^2 -34a +480 = 0

Divide by 2:

a^2 - 17a +240 = 0

Factor:

a(a-10) - 24(a-10) = 0

a =10

b = 34 - 10 = 24

The sides are 10 cm and 24 cm
