Assuming the car's acceleration was constant throughout the 5 second interval, it would be equal to its average acceleration:

a=a_(\rm avg)=(65\,(\rm m)/(\rm s)-36\,(\rm m)/(\rm s))/(5\,\rm s)=5.8\,(\rm m)/(\mathrm s^2)
