There are three subatomic particles that make up an atom. Electrons, Protons, and Neutrons. Electrons are subatomic particles that have a negative charge. Protons are subatomic particles that have a positive charge. And Neutrons are subatomic particles that have no charge, but only add onto the atomic mass of an atom. Protons and Neutrons are in the nucleus of an atom, but the electron stays within the electron cloud. Hope this helps!
