Final answer:

By subtracting the percentage of adults and teenagers from the total percentage, we find that children under 12 made up 28% of the visitors. Multiplying 28% by the total number of visitors, 1,575, we determine that 441 children under 12 visited the amusement park.

Step-by-step explanation:

We can solve the question by first calculating the percentage of visitors who are children under 12. We know that 56% of visitors are adults and 16% are teenagers. The total percentage for adults and teenagers is 56% + 16% = 72%. The remaining percentage must represent children under 12, which is 100% - 72% = 28%.

To find out the number of children under 12 who visited the park, we need to calculate 28% of 1,575 people. We can do this by multiplying the total number of visitors by the percentage of children: 1,575 x 0.28 = 441.

Therefore, the number of children under 12 who visited the amusement park last Sunday was 441.

First we less the sum of 56% and 16% from 100% to get our percentage of visitors under 12.

100 - (56 + 16) = 28
Percentage of visitors under twelve = 28%

Then we take 28% of 1,575.
Easiest done if we use the fraction .28 instead of 28%.

1575 * 0.28 = 441
Number of visitors under twelve= 441
