If the chromosome pair is XX, then the trait is exhibited by only females. If the chromosome pair is XY, then the trait is exhibited by only males. However, since we are given no second chromosome letter, I would have to say that the trait is exhibited by both male and female or just female because both genders contain at least one X chromosome. Why? Well, females have two X chromosomes in their cells. Males have XY chromosomes in their cells. If the gene for a sex linked trait is located on the X chromosome alone, then the trait will be exhibited by only females.
