m=3 m=-4

Explanation:

m^2+m-12=0

Factor

What two numbers multiply to -12 and add to 1

-3*4 = -12

-3+4 = 1

(m-3) (m+4)=0

Using the zero product property

m-3=0 m+4=0

m=3 m=-4
