Answer:

4=3/4(-8)+b

Explanation:

You have to use the equation Y=mx+b

M is your slope so 3/4

x=-8

Y=4

Then u put it into the equation and get 4=3/4(-8)+b

Hope this helps:)

ANSWER:

y = 3/4x + 10

STEP-BY-STEP:

I will write the equation in the slope-intercept form: y = mx + b

y = y-coordinate

m = slope

x = x-coordinate

b = y-intercept

Part 1: Substitute the knowns into the equation

y = mx + b

4 = (3/4)(-8) + b

1. Simplify

4 = -6 + b

Part 2: Solve for b

1. add 6 to both sides to get b by itself on one side

4 + 6 = b - 6 + 6

2. Simplify

10 = b

Part 3: Re-write equation with 3/4 substituted in for m and 10 substituted in for b

y = 3/4x + 10
