A movie theater sells popcorn in a cylindrical containers. A large popcorn container is 8 inches high and has a radius of 3 inches. One cup of popcorn has a volume of 14.4 inches3. How man cups of popcorn can the container hold?

15.7 cups of popcorn can fit, if it needs to be a whole number, 15 cups.

Explanation:

Since the Radius is 3, We can use the equation A = 3.14 * r² to find the area.

So, A = 3.14 * 3² = 28.26

Now that we know the area we can multiply the Area by the Height to find the Volume

28.26 * 8 = 226.08

Now knowing that 226.08 is the Volume of the container we can divide 226.08 by 14.4 to find that 15.7 cups can fit or just 15.

226.08/14.4 = 15.7 or 15
