How does the construction of dams positively affect natural resources

It controls the water so no floods occur. This protects plants and animals because they wont get washed away because the dams stop all the rushing water.

Dams positively affect natural resources (environmental benefits), including flood control (help prevent the loss of life), water supply (reservoirs that supply water for many uses, including industrial), hydroelectric power (hydropower is considered clean because it does not contribute to global warming, air pollution or ozone depletion), waste management (provide environmental protection, such as the retention of hazardous materials/detrimental sedimentation), and wildlife habitat (protection of wildlife in that area).
