In Great Expectations, Biddy intends to (D.) teach in a school after Mrs. Joe's death.
After Pip's sister, Mrs. Joe, dies, Biddy, who had stayed at Pip's home to take care of her, feels she is no longer needed there. Although Pip asks her to stay, she decides to leave and tells Pip about her dream. She says that her plan is to earn her living by becoming a teacher. Moreover, in the book, in contrast to Estella, Biddy is described as a patient girl and she is the one that teacher Pip and Joe how to read and write.
