Answer:

a) x = 4

b) x = 1

Explanation:

a)
(4x-1)/(2) = x + 7 multiply both sides by 2 so we can simplify the fraction by getting rid of 2

4x - 1 = 2x + 7 transfer like terms to the same side of the equation

4x - 2x = 7 + 1

2x = 8 divide both sides by 2

x = 4

b)
3x + 2 = (2x+13)/(3) again, get rid of the fraction by multiplying both sides by 3

9x + 6 = 2x + 13 transfer like terms to the same side of the equation

9x - 2x = 13 - 6

7x = 7 divide both sides by 7

x = 1
