To find greatest common factor , we write each term in factor form

factors form are the product of the factor of given term

4k ---> 2 * 2* k

18k^2 ----> 3 * 3* 2* k*k

12 -----> 2*2*3

all the three terms has common factor 2

So GCf is 2
