Answer: x= -8

Explanation:

1/4 x + 2 = -5x/8 - 5

x/4 + 2 = -5x / 8 - 5

we collect like term

x/4 + 5x / 8 = -5 - 2

2x + 5x / 8 = -7

7x / 8 = -7

cross multiply

7x = -56

Divide bothside by 7

7x / 7 = -56/7

x = -8
