y= -1/2x-1

Explanation:

1) put the equation in y-intercept form to find the slope of the original line 2x+4y=8

y=8/4-2x/4

y=2-1/2x

slope of second line will be -1/2

2) put point into the point-slope form (2,-2)

y-(-2)= -1/2(x-2) now simplify

y+2= -1/2x+2/2

y+2 = -1/2x + 1

y+2-2=-1/2x + 1 -2 ====>>>> y= -1/2x-1
