The Catholic Counter-Reformation was a movement against the behavior and the policies of the Vatican and the Pope. Many members of this religion wanted to renovate the Roman Church ideas. People that followed Catholicism realized that some Priests were more interested in the richness that in to spread the word of God. Corruption was present inside the Church.

Effects.

The foundation of new religious groups inside the Catholic Church such as the Jesuits and the Capuchins. The Jesuits were the most prominent group of the Counter-Reformation. They created schools in many cities of Europe and established missionary projects in the new continent to preach the Native American Indians. Other consequenses were that Martin Luther founded the Lutheran Church and Henry VIII, King of England, founded the Church of England.
