what is the total distance Zohar needs to cut with the scissors?

Answer:

Option c is correct.

62 centimeters distance Zohar needs to cut with scissors.

Explanation:

As per the statement:

Length of a rectangle = 5x -2 and width of a rectangle = 3x + 1.

It is also given that the perimeter of the rectangle is, 2(5x-2) +2(3x+1). .....[1]

The perimeter of a rectangle is the total length around the outside.

To find the total distance Zohar needs to cut with scissors.

Substitute the value of x = 4 cm in [1] we get;

Perimeter of the rectangle =
2(5(4)-2) +2(3(4)+1) = 2(20-2)+2(12+1) = 2 \cdot 18 + 2 \cdot 13 = 36 + 26 = 62 cm

Therefore, the total distance Zohar needs to cut with scissors is, 62 centimeters
