b. The average rainfall for the whole year is 105 mm.

c. The average selling of the shop for the whole week is Rs 337.5.

a. The marks obtained by Shashwat in the fourth subject is
\( M + 4 \)

b. Sunayana's marks in Mathematics is
\( N + 25 \).

How did we get these values?

b) Average Rainfall in Pokhara Valley:

Let A be the average rainfall for the whole year.

Given that the average rainfall for the first 6 months is 150 mm, and for the remaining months it is 60 mm, we can set up the equation:

\[ A = \frac{{\text{{Average rainfall in the first 6 months}} + \text{{Average rainfall in the remaining months}}}}{2} \]

\[ A = \frac{{150 + 60}}{2} \]

A =
\frac{{210}}{2}

A = 105

Therefore, the average rainfall for the whole year is 105 mm.

c) Average Selling of the Shop:

Let B be the average selling for the whole week.

Given that the average selling for the first 4 days is Rs 425, and for the remaining days it is Rs 250, we can set up the equation:

\[ B = \frac{{\text{{Average selling in the first 4 days}} + \text{{Average selling in the remaining days}}}}{2} \]

\[ B = \frac{{425 + 250}}{2} \]

\[ B = \frac{{675}}{2} \]

\[ B = 337.5 \]

Therefore, the average selling of the shop for the whole week is Rs 337.5.

a) Marks Obtained by Shashwat:

Let M be the average marks for the three subjects, and X be the marks obtained in the fourth subject.

Given that the average marks increase by 1 when the marks of the fourth subject are included, we can set up the equation:

\[ M + 1 = \frac{{M * 3 + X}}{4} \]

Solving for X:

\[ 4M + 4 = 3M + X \]

\[ X = M + 4 \]

Therefore, the marks obtained by Shashwat in the fourth subject is
\( M + 4 \).

b) Marks in Mathematics for Sunayana:

Let N be the average marks for English, Nepali, Science, and Social Studies, and Y be the marks obtained in Mathematics.

Given that the average marks increase by 5 when the marks of Mathematics are included, we can set up the equation:

\[ N + 5 = \frac{{N * 4 + Y}}{5} \]

Solving for Y:

\[ 5N + 25 = 4N + Y \]

\[ Y = N + 25 \]

Therefore, Sunayana's marks in Mathematics is
\( N + 25 \).
