Each and every cell in the body comprises organelles, that is, the compositions that exhibit particular functions. Each organelle like the organs in the body takes part in their own manner in helping the cell to function as a whole. Some of the organelles and their functions are:
1. Mitochondria: It helps in the production of energy by the process of cellular respiration.
2. Ribosomes: It takes part in the formation of proteins.
3. Nucleus: It refers to an organelle found in the cells of eukaryotes. Within its fully-enclosed nuclear membrane, it comprises most of the cell's genetic material. The nucleus functions as the brain of the cell and does the function of holding genetic material.
4. Endoplasmic reticulum: It works as a packaging and manufacturing system. It functions in harmony with the ribosomes, Golgi apparatus, tRNA, and mRNA.
