"Optical density" is a code-phrase that's used to describe the speed of light in a substance.

The way it's used, a substance in which the speed of light is lower is said to have a greater 'optical density'. So if 'X' is optically denser than 'Y', the speed of light in 'X' is lower than it is in 'Y'.

The correct answer-choice is (c) .
