he was seen as someone who could be a suitable leader to overthrow the British.He had already been known internationally as a leader as he had ended black discrimination in South Africa.

Answer: He was viewed as a hero, a bringer of peace, and was even given the name, "Father of the Nation." Because he was a man who lived humbly, cherished humanity, and was against all types of violence. Gandhi formed India's independence from British rule in 1947 by staging massive peaceful protests against poverty/shortage and the battle for women's rights and religious beliefs. He was viewed as someone who could be a proper leader to defeat the British. He had previously been recognized globally as a leader as he had concluded black discrimination in South Africa.
