When a text or image is selected, an option under ANIMATION named Add Animation is enabled. Under it, there are 4 options Entrance / Emphasis / Exit / Motion paths . Under each option, there are types of animations that can be used for animation. E.g. Entrance have Fade that will fade in the text, Fly In means that text or image will be flied into the slide and so on.
