x + 6

Explanation:

divide the number of sweets by the number of children, that is


(x^2+9x+18)/(x+3)

=
((x+3)(x+6))/(x+3) ← factor numerator

cancel the factor (x + 3) on the numerator/denominator

number of sweets = x + 6 per child
