A number is increased by 25 percent and then decreased by 20 percent. The result is what percent

of the original number?

Answer: 100%

Explanation

Let the number be 100

Add 25% to it :- 100+25% of 100 i.e., 100+25= 125

Subtract 20% of the resultant from it :- 125-20% of 125 i.e., 125-25= 100

The answer is 100%
