Hello from MrBillDoesMath!

Answer:

(x^2)/9 + y^2 = 1

Discussion:

x = 3cost => x/3 = cost

y = sint

Using (sint)^2 + (cos)^2 =1 and substituting the above x and y values gives:

(x/3)^2 + y^2 = (cost)^2 + (sint)^2 = 1 or

(x^2)/9 + y^2 = 1

Thank you,

MrB
