The temperature danger zone is the temperature in which microorganism that cause food born illnesses can reproduce. To avoid this food should be kept at what temperature(Fahrenheit) below

Food should be kept below 40 degree Fahrenheit.


This is because the danger zone is in the range 40 °F - 140 °F, and microorganisms can reproduce as fast as twice in 20 minutes. The food can be kept at temperatures above 140 degree Fahrenheit, or below 40 degree Fahrenheit depending on the type of food and its ability to withstand a particular extremity of temperature.
