The Battle of Midway
was significant because it was the turning point in the
Pacific theater during World War 2.
Before
The Battle of the Coral Sea in 1942,the Imperial Navy of Japan
had swept aside all of its enemies
from the Pacific and Indian oceans.Yamamoto's
plan was to attack and then assault the two
islands that make up The Midway Atoll.
The US navy defeated a Japanese attack against Midway Atoll,
marking a turning point in the war in
the Pacific theater.
Six months
after the attack on
Pearl Harbour, the US defeated Japan in one of the most decisive naval battles of World War 2.
